Short Course: Trauma Theology & The Church, 28 Sept 10-1pm.

Places are available to book for our half-day online course in Trauma Theology & The Church.

Course Information

This short course will explore what Trauma Theology is and what it means for the Church today.

Taught by Dr Karen O’Donnell, the course will include an introduction to trauma and an overview of the field of Trauma Theology including key themes and key authors. We will then examine what Trauma Theology means for the Church (broadly construed) today and what a trauma-informed church might look like.

The session will include links to resources, opportunity for conversation and sharing of good practice.

Dr Karen O’Donnell is Academic Dean and Lecturer in Worship & Human Community at Westcott House. A feminist theologian, Karen’s research interests are interdisciplinary. She is interested in the places were bodies and theologies meet, and the impact bodily experiences of trauma have on theological imaginations and is widely published in this area of research.
